New in 2014 are the Rubys, a project of the Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance that’s providing up to $10,000 to artists in project-based funding.
A total of $120,000 in funding — provided by the Robert W. Deutsch Foundation — will be given out in two cycles to artists in Baltimore city and the surrounding counties. The first of the two grant-making cycles will be distributing money for projects in performing arts as well as media arts, which, for the tech community, means “all forms of filmmaking, production, screenwriting, video, design, and digital art,” according to a press release.
