The Berndt Group (TBG), an agency providing digital customer experience solutions to some of Baltimore’s most prominent institutions, is now part of the global digital solutions agency Valtech.

Valtech today announced its acquisition of TBG for an undisclosed amount. TBG’s more than 80 employees will join the European parent company’s roster of over 4,800 workers across 50 countries. The acquisition of TBG brings its 30 years of experience and institutional knowledge about the Maryland and East Coast markets, in which TBG has largely focused under Valtech’s international umbrella. TBG has provided web design and development services for such clients as Johns Hopkins University, Penn Medicine, Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital and Christus Health. The announcement noted TBG’s particular success with these clients in the healthcare industry, as well as others in finance and B2B services.

“Joining Valtech allows us to expand our service offerings for clients, and our team will join a like-minded organization with an exemplary culture inherently focused on delivering quality,” John Berndt, TBG’s namesake CEO, said in a statement. “We are very excited by this opportunity to raise the bar on digital health transformation consulting and services globally.”

Valtech was valued at $1.4 billion after a major investment from the UK firm BC Partners last year. This is Valtech’s third acquisition this year, as well as its second in North America. All three of those companies have specialties in B2B technology solutions, although Valtech’s CEO Olivier Padiou highlighted the aforementioned life sciences successes in his statement.

“By bringing together TBG’s abilities to create enhanced digital experiences in halthcare and our CX expertise across multiple verticals, we are able to bring change to an industry in need of transformation,” Padiou said. “Together, we are able to help clients transform by doing, and deliver market leading experiences that integrate a patient’s physical and digital healthcare journey, resulting in care that is personalized and patient-centric.”
