The Barn unveils ‘cool’ new graphics for Jacksonville Jaguars

A campaign from the Wilmington branding firm offers a new take on "icing the kicker." The activation launched during a preseason game at TIAA Bank Field last week.

Wilmington creative agency The Barn has done lots of sports projects, from the Conrad Red Wolves rebrand to graphics for Premier League Soccer on NBC Sports.

One of the firm’s big contracts is with the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars down in Florida. And when we say big, it’s both figurative and literal — check out the video of The Barn’s “Cool the Kicker” graphics that will show on the jumbotron when the opposing team makes a field goal attempt.

The soundless video was posted on The Barn’s Facebook page, with some additional info:

Our enormous branded fan engagement campaign for the Jacksonville Jaguars was brought to life in front of a packed preseason game at TIAA Bank Field. Over 50,000 sqft of designed screens took over Jacksonville, and was a proud moment for The Barn. We aren’t just activating fans, we aren’t just advertising a client, we are changing football dialect in a city.

“Icing” the kicker — or calling a timeout just before the ball is snapped in an attempt to get in the kicker’s head — is the more common, albeit similarly chilly, phrase.

The “Cool the Kicker” campaign is in connection with another Barn client, McGowan’s Heating & Air Conditioning of Jacksonville, which has pledged to donate to charity every time the opposing kicker misses the field goal.
