The tech community is an interconnected, symbiotic ecosystem.

When tech companies need support and resources, they turn to organizations like universities, law firms, accelerator programs, economic development groups, coding bootcamps and corporate entities. And when those orgs have business needs of their own, they rely on technology solutions to keep running. These applications and platforms help them increase efficiency, track progress and deliver on their missions.

For the month of September, Technical.ly’s reporting has explored the theme of The Tech Behind for our editorial calendar. For some additional perspectives, we asked our Technical.ly Ecosystem Builder companies the following question:

What applications and platforms does your org rely on to do business (i.e. Slack, CRMs, project management software, etc)?

Here are some replies from their teams, and if you like what you see, follow the links to companies’ Directory Pages to learn more and explore ways to connect.

Arcweb Technologies

Arcweb Technologies is on a mission to democratize digital healthcare through open source solutions that expand the delivery and lower the costs of care. In pursuit of this goal, we focus on forming long term partnerships with health and wellness companies and leveraging decades of experience to solve their most pressing software product challenges.

“Arcweb has always leveraged a variety of applications and platforms to deliver first-rate custom software for our clients: We use Jira and Confluence for project management and issue tracking, Git for source control, Amazon Web Services for cloud computing and Google Workspace for almost everything else. Depending on specific client needs, we also draw on our experience using Microsoft products (including Azure for cloud computing) and other systems (Aha!, ClickUp, etc.) Now that we’re remote-first, we rely on Zoom and Slack to maintain our sense of community — our weekly music league Slack channel and hobby-based channels are particularly active.” — Mia Kent, project manager

Delaware Black Chamber of Commerce

The DEBCC is dedicated to the business development and economic empowerment of the Delaware economy, particularly the African American communities throughout the State of Delaware, via entrepreneurship utilizing educational models, shared best practices, business resources and technical assistance.

“Our organization relies on a well-rounded suite of tools to drive our business operations. Key platforms include Teams/365 for seamless communication, GrowthZone/CRM software to nurture member relationships and project management tools Canva/Mailchimp/Trello for efficient project coordination. These resources enable us to provide valuable support and services to our members and the community we serve.” — Ayanna Khan, founder & president/CEO

TEDCO

TEDCO, the Maryland Technology Development Corporation, enhances economic empowerment growth through the fostering of an inclusive entrepreneurial innovation ecosystem. We identify, invest in, and help grow technology and life science-based companies in Maryland.

“As the economic engine for Maryland’s technology startups, TEDCO operates at a fast pace, requiring information to be viewed in real time in various ways. To support our efforts we utilize NetSuite, a cloud-based accounting software, to support our accounting needs. This software is integrated with four other platforms that are utilized throughout the organization. These platforms include Workday Adaptive, a budgeting, forecasting and reporting software allowing users to access reports in real-time, create graphs and dashboards for data visualization, and more; Gatekeeper, a contract management software that allows for data aggregations and easy-to-read dashboards; Bamboo HR, a timekeeping system with easy user interface, allowing staff to complete timesheets and other HR needs; and Beanworks, an accounts payable automated software allowing us to more efficiently process invoices and purchase orders.” — Geyssel Gonzalez, controller
