Just as RevZilla staff was about to take their lunch break last Thursday, in walks part of the company’s top brass in colonial garb, backed by a traditional fife and drum band, holding a banner of the #ZLACentennial, the name chosen for the celebration of the Navy Yard ecommerce shop’s 200th hire.
“It’s amazing to cross this milestone when we reflect on where we started less than a decade ago,” said cofounder and CEO Anthony Bucci. “With each hire we raise the bar and defend the brand.”
According to company figures, growth has been focused on the digital marketing team, which currently has 16 members, up by 45 percent from last year.
Earlier this year, a Reuters piece said a deal to acquire RevZilla was in the works. The information was dismissed and, a week later, a partnership was announced with Cycle Gear to form a new holding company that would collectively own both businesses.
