Startup Grind entrepreneur event series to launch in Philly May 1

The Philadelphia Chapter of Startup Grind seeks to fill the gap in programming that currently exists in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. There are workshops, panels, and demos, but entrepreneurs are craving to hear the stories from the horse's mouth and are looking for those little keys to add to their startup toolbox.

This is a guest post by Benjamin's Desk cofounder Michael Maher, the Philadelphia Chapter Director of Startup Grind. Chapter directors make a cut of the event ticket sales but are responsible for finding local sponsors, Maher said.

The Philadelphia chapter of Startup Grind, an entrepreneur event series, is launching May 1. It’s seeking to fill the gap in programming that currently exists in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. There are workshops, panels and demos, but entrepreneurs are craving to hear the stories from the horse’s mouth and are looking for those little keys to add to their startup toolbox.

Why Philadelphia and why now?  The city is in the midst of a burgeoning renaissance with an abundance of growing startups, city-­led initiatives funding ideas and open data projects, and better access to capital with venture firm First Round Capital, and hopefully others soon, moving into the city.
