Sparkypants offered the first look at a game that’s been in development for more than a year.
The Station North-based studio revealed a teaser for Dropzone this week, a desktop real-time strategy game that is being published by Gameforge in the western hemisphere.
The trailer says the game is set on a distant moon. It has “thousands of options” to create weapon rigs with specific software and gear to engage in 15-minute battles. PC Gamer got to give it a try, and reports that players control three rigs, but the game is “uniquely” a 1v1 strategy game.

Sparkypants began work on a prototype for the game in November 2014. In 2015, the studio’s team built a new engine specifically for the game. A release date for Dropzone has not been set.
In that time, Sparkypants also moved from Coleman’s basement into new offices at the Centre Theatre on North Avenue. The company now has 32 employees, as well as part-timers and contractors.
