You may start seeing something very familiar on your screens — Wilmington’s Short Order Production House has produced its first national commercial for DuckDuckGo, the Paoli, Pennsylvania-based internet privacy search engine, which has taken off in the last two years.

The ad, called “Take Back Your Privacy,” was filmed on location around H.B. DuPont Park in downtown Wilmington in mid-June.

The commercial has a similar vibe to “Options in Delaware,” the video Short Order created for the state’s Amazon HQ2 pitch (but cleverly didn’t mention Amazon anywhere in the video, so it could be used to entice businesses in general to come to Delaware). Fast-paced, funny and to the point.

The national ad is representative of Short Order’s growth over the last 18 months. Founded by Zach Phillips as The Kitchen in Wilmington in 2013, the company has doubled in size in the past year to become the largest video production house in the state of Delaware, with 15 full-time employees, three on-site studios, eight editing suites, and 10,000 square feet of offices located inside the the former WHYY studios at 7th and Orange streets.

“This company has come a long way in the past 18 months,” said Phillips, in a press statement. “The talented filmmakers who have been here for years now have the support of an experienced business, management, and production team, allowing the company to focus on our creative processes. Having all of this talent, along with the studios and production resources, under one roof, right in the middle of downtown Wilmington, is a dream.”
