Baltimore startups like Groove, Mindgrub Technologies and Securityhunter are making waves and being recognized for their fast growth.
More than 50 Baltimore companies made this year’s Inc. 5000 in Inc. Magazine. The list tracks the nation’s fastest-growing firms.
Securityhunter, a cybersecurity firm in Windsor Mill, topped the list. Here’s what Inc. had to say about it:
The No. 1 fastest-growing, private company based in Baltimore serves the U.S. Department of Defense, among others. Securityhunter manufactures and installs electronic and physical security systems, which are used by several federal agencies. Established back in 1988, Securityhunter has experienced huge growth under the leadership of CEO Michael Rogers. Between 2010 and 2013, the company’s revenue has grown a whopping 3,000 percent to $35.9 million from $1.2 million. With fewer than 20 employees as of last year, Securityhunter is also deemed the second top Maryland-based company, and lands at No. 123 on the overall Inc. 5000.
