A Palette Group staffer forgot his phone in an Uber and things got a lil crazy

Think GPS tracking and ransom money.

Palette Group Account Manager Jeremy Keys had one of those one-star Uber experiences last Friday.
At first, it seemed to be a garden-variety ride to the office. You know, smell of air freshener and morning pleasantries exchanged. But once he got to the office, he realized he had left his phone in the backseat.
Then everything went haywire.
“I use my Uber receipt to track down my charming driver and give her a call,” Keys wrote in a Medium post. “‘I think I left my phone in the car, would you be able to drop it off?’ I said, embarrassed to admit the silly mistake. She responds, ‘Ohh you did but… you’re gonna have to wait.'”
We won’t spoil the ending for you, but let’s just say the tale involves GPS tracking, a half-dozen phone calls and a more-than-obvious hint at extortion.
