Registration for DC Startup Week 2019, slated for Sept. 9-13, opened this week with organizers anticipating their largest event series yet.
Created as a means of bringing the startup community together, DC Startup Week is expected to bring in 7,000 attendees this year. Last year’s event series drew 5,000 attendees to 120 events, Rachel Koretsky, lead organizer of DC Startup Week, said in a press release.
“In 2019 we’re going bigger and bolder, with a wide range of informative and inspiring panels, pitch competitions, hackathons, networking events and more,” Koretsky said in a statement. “We’re proud to put on a weeklong showcase of the best that this region has to offer, connect local entrepreneurs with new opportunities, and inspire the next generation of founders in and around this city.”
The fourth annual week-long event series is free but you must be registered to attend.
RegisterThis year’s startup week includes sponsorships from NEXT, powered by Shulman Rogers, along with Booz Allen Hamilton, GSP, Drift, Boldr and the Flatiron School.
Some notable speakers slated to present include Adam Mutchsler, host of The Founder’s Mind podcast, Amelia Friedman, cofounder of Hatch Apps and Melissa Bradley, managing partner at 1863 Ventures. There will be various pitch events happening, including a pitch event for teen entrepreneurs and a women-led business pitch competition hosted by HERImpact.
In the coming weeks, more partners, events and speakers will be announced, organizers said.
