who’s getting funded?

Plasmonix, based out of the bwtech@UMBC incubator, has raised $300,000 in equity, according to SEC filings. The biotech company specializes in metal-enhanced fluorescence used in cell detection for medical research. Plasmonix received $100,000 out of the $84 million InvestMaryland fund in late 2012.

who’s making moves?

CoFoundersLab, the Rockville-based startup that created an online community for startup owners looking for cofounders, is now available to entrepreneurs across the world. More than 13,000 people in the U.S. and Canada are already signed up on CoFoundersLab.
There are two password managers in Baltimore, TeamPassword, which originated during the fall’s Startup Weekend during Baltimore Innovation Week and CommonKey, which was launched by a former TeamPassword team member who defected over his differing vision.
Motifworks and Adashmore are the newest members of the Towson Global incubator, as we reported.
