This Feb. 12 panel will help you navigate the new China trade deal

If you do business with China (or are planning to start), you’re probably well aware that the economic trade agreement between the U.S. and China signed in January will affect you in some way. We’ve heard about the increase in allowable agricultural exports and “trade secret” protection, but at the end of the day, the agreement is a 96-page document — and those in business with China need to understand the whole thing.

World Trade Center Delaware is offering some help on Wednesday, Feb. 12, with the event “What Does the New US-China Trade Pact Mean for My Business with Asia?” and the University & Whist Club in Wilmington from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The event will include a panel featuring three experts:

• Jacob Parker, senior VP at the US-China Business Council
• Joanne Chu, director of the Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office, NY
• Antonio Ceballos, director of the U.S. Commercial Service, Philadelphia

Over lunch, Parker will also give a talk on understanding the new trade deal. If you still need some more specific advice about your business, after lunch there will be a speed-dating-style “meet the panelists” segment for short one-on-one chats; prior registration is required.

Tickets for the event are $120, or $60 for WTC Delaware members.
