OrderUp’s latest hire knows something about digital and delivery. The Canton-based mobile food delivery startup is bringing aboard Chris McGlothlin, who previously worked as Chief Information Officer at Domino’s Pizza.
McGlothlin, who led the team that developed the Domino’s Pizza Tracker (is it real?), will become OrderUp’s chief operating officer. He’ll be charged with scaling the company’s online ordering and on-demand delivery capabilities, according to a statement from the company.
At Domino’s, McGlothlin oversaw the chain’s ecommerce division, and also helped develop its mobile ordering. Before working at Domino’s, McGlothlin spent 11 years at Yum Brands.
“Chris’ experience building Domino’s e-Commerce platform combined with his delivery operations experience, including creating systems and processes to support best-in-class delivery, will accelerate OrderUp’s rapid growth nationwide,” OrderUp CEO and cofounder Chris Jeffery said in a statement.
OrderUp is currently in 37 markets, and plans to launch in Towson later this week. The company closed a $7 million financing round in August, which was led by Steve Case’s Revolution Ventures and Living Social cofounder Tim O’Shaughnessy.
The company has been hiring everyone in recent months, including the acquisition of BackForty.
