NextFab to host U.S. Northeast Casting Call for ABC’s ‘Shark Tank’

It'll be the only casting call in the Northeast, so expect hundreds of Shark Tank hopefuls to descend on Philadelphia. The first 500 entrepreneurs in line will get a guaranteed spot at the casting call.

NextFab is hosting an open casting call for the ABC entrepreneurship reality show Shark Tank on May 5.

For the uninitiated, Shark Tank is essentially a live pitching session where startups try to get celebrity investors (“The Sharks”) to invest in their company. You give something up for being on the show — equity is involved — so the central question is whether your product or company would benefit what amounts to a nationally-televised appearance, in addition to conversation with investors.

NextFab is holding two events to prep Philly’s entrepreneurs for the casting call:

  • Test your pitch with real VCs and business experts [May 4] “Mock Shark Tank” practice + consultation session for Shark Tank candidates.
  • Get Ready to Shine [April 30] Get advice on presentation, business planning, public speech from celebrity experts.
