WHO’S GETTING FUNDED?
NextDocs raised a $13.5 million round led by Boston-based OpenView Ventures, according to a release. Boston-area Eastward Capital and Bridge Bank also participated in the round for the Conshohocken-based company that provides technology solutions to life science companies.
NextDocs raised its first round of funding in August 2011 and raised $5 million in July. Previously, it was completely bootstrapped. Read our recent Q&A with NextDocs CEO Zikria Syed here.
The Dorm Room Fund, First Round Capital‘s student-run investment firm, just expanded to Boston, the Boston Globe reported. The fund also recently launched a mentor program for its portfolio companies, and nearly a third of the more than 60 advisers are Penn alumni.
First Round Capital participated in a $45 million Series D round for San Francisco-based last-minute hotel booking app HotelTonight, Forbes reported.
WHO’S MAKING MOVES?
RJMetrics hired Anita Garimella Andrews, who sold her online marketing agency Sepiida to Manayunk-based Delphic Digital in November 2012, to lead its new Client Analytics Services team, according to its blog.
Real Food Works, the Center City healthy meal subscription service from tech scene veteran Lucinda Duncalfe, launched a meal program focused on weight-loss, according to a release. The program includes meals, coaching and an online tracking portal. The company is also throwing free weekly farmhouse table lunches in their new office. Sign up for them here.
