Center City-based NeuroFlow, makers of a patient engagement platform for behavioral health professionals, beat out six other startups for the winning spot at the Venture Connect healthcare pitch competition.
Though the competition — part of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) 2019 conference, happening this week in Orlando — did not have a specific prize, the company said through a spokesperson that the event gave Neuroflow a chance to make its pitch in front of investors and potential clients.
“To be on center stage at HIMSS and to beat out highly qualified companies was a thrilling experience,” emailed CEO Chris Molaro, an Army veteran whose stump speech on the importance of mental health access, especially among fellow veterans, has captured audiences’ attention before. “More importantly, we were given a platform to amplify our message and mission to key players in the healthcare industry.”

Last fall, the company — a 2019 realLIST honoree — raised $1.2 million in what it called a “post-seed” round of funding. Led by New Brunswick-based angel investor group NJ JumpStart, the startup said the funding would let it keep up with demand and deliver on “newfound applications” for its technology.
