A new networking event for Baltimore’s tech community starts Jan. 23.
Called NetMore Social, it’s intended “to take the laborious work and social awkwardness out of networking,” said co-organizer Gabe Pendleton. (Pendleton, a game developer, also manages BaltimoreGamer.com.)
To that end, the event is being held at a Canton bar, with Fireball shots for $4 and drafts of Natty Boh for $2.25. Natch.
Pendleton insists it’s more than a drink-fest for the techie class, which isn’t hurting for networking events to attend.
“The event itself is a bi-monthly event consisting of two tech showcases, two artist showcases, and one or two performing acts,” said Pendleton. “Any given event will be filled with music, performances, showcases, group networking games and more.”
RSVP to the first NetMore Social on Jan. 23, which features:
- Aaron Altscher, the CEO of startup Handteq and also one of five teams that were awarded seed funding through the first Hack the Parks civic hacking competition.
- Elevated Element, the drone-photography duo headed up by Terry and Belinda Kirby, which Technical.ly Baltimore has covered.
- A performance by the band Greasy Hands.
- And Natty Boh drafts for $2.25, as well as other drink specials.
