Late last year Millennial Media acquired Nexage for $107 million to expand its programmatic capabilities. Now the Canton-based adtech company is bringing on the Boston startup’s former CEO.
Ernie Cormier is joining Millennial Media as its chief operating officer, overseeing the publicly-traded company’s product, technology and operations teams.
Cormier has more than 20 years of experience in media and telecom, including stints with Nextel and Virgin Media. He also served as CEO of the gaming and electronics company Zeemote, which was sold to Aplix in 2009.
“Ernie’s experience developing and scaling Nexage into the industry’s leading programmatic marketplace will be vital in solidifying this foundation and continuing Millennial Media’s growth and superior product offerings,” Millennial Media CEO Michael Barrett said in a statement.
Cormier was initially named to Millennial Media’s board of directors. With the hire, he’s stepping down from that role.
