Mid-Atlantic Venture Association announces 16 TechBUZZ finalists

6 are repping the District.

TechBUZZ, the pitching contest launched in 2011 by the Mid-Atlantic Venture Association, announced its new crop of presenting startups this week.
The 16 startups — hailing mainly from D.C., Virginia, Maryland and New York, will have four minutes to talk up their venture to hundreds of enterpreneurs and investors.
The half-day event will take place on June 16 at AOL’s Steve Case Center.
Those 16 sweet startups are:

  1. Athena Power (McLean, Va.)
  2. Attentiv (D.C.)
  3. Bloomforth (Centreville, Va.)
  4. Bubbl (New York)
  5. buzzmark (D.C.)
  6. CyberTimez (Winchester, Va.)
  7. DaoCloud (D.C.)
  8. Esplota (Miami and New York)
  9. First Mile Geo, Inc. (D.C.)
  10. Jewelbots (New York)
  11. Lessoncast (Baltimore)
  12. RedShred (Baltimore)
  13. RelishMBA (Charlottesville, Va.)
  14. Uplevel Security (D.C. and New York)
  15. Virgil Security, Inc. (Manassas, Va.)
  16. YOPP (D.C.)

According to MAVA, companies that have presented at TechBUZZ have rounded up a grand total of $200 million in disclosed funding over the years.
