Local artists: Want $$$ to show off your immersive art project at Philly Tech Week?

Apply to have your work displayed at the Philly Tech Week 2017 closing party. We have cash for the coolest ideas.

Philly Tech Week, like our daily news coverage, is organized into seven different tracks: Sciences, Business, Dev, Creative, Access, Civic and Media. In an effort to ensure that the Creative track is substantially represented during Philly Tech Week 2017 presented by Comcast, this year’s micro-grants will be awarded to local artists. (Here’s who won last year’s micro-grants.)

The annual Signature Event, our PTW closing party, will take place on Friday, May 5, which happen to be both Cinco de Mayo and First Friday. We’re looking for a few immersive, interactive or innovative creations to have at the party. We don’t want to limit your creativity, but it should be in some way tied to technology and innovation, both themes that run through Philly Tech Week.

Tell us a little about your idea and the funds you would need to turn it into reality! We have a total pool of $1,500 and are hoping to give our more than one grant, so grant sizes range between $50 to $500.

Applications are due by Wed, March 1.
