At the Baltimore Convention Center, it’s the second and final day of the third annual CyberMaryland conference, a showcase of the region’s private and governmental cybersecurity companies, jobs and offerings.
In July we tried to determine what benefits Baltimore city gained from the state’s cybersecurity industry, only to find that precise numbers for the cybersecurity workforce in this city are difficult to come up with.
The Economic Alliance of Greater Baltimore has a new, summarized report of the state’s cybersecurity sector.
- Maryland has more than 10,000 cybersecurity contractors.
- The Baltimore-Washington, D.C., region has more than 200,000 “cybersecurity professionals.”
- Maryland leads the nation with more than 19,000 jobs openings in cybersecurity.
Take a glance at that here, and look back at our July story regarding the effect of the cybersecurity industry on Baltimore city.
