Mayor Kenney did a DIY version of ‘Mean Tweets’ for his birthday

Kenney got some zingers in — or at least he tried to.

Mayor Jim Kenney celebrated his birthday on Sunday with a dose of honesty.
No, he didn’t open up about the staff shift on the innovation front within City Hall or Friday’s FBI raid of political ally John Dougherty. Instead, he read a string of mean tweets in a two-minute YouTube video.
Kenney read insults and complaints directed at him on both his @PhillyMayor and @JimFKenney accounts. Much like celebrities and sports figures do on the “Mean Tweets” segment of the Jimmy Kimmel Live! show, Kenney fired back after each zinger with some shade of his own.
Or at least he tried.
“Philly Mayor Jim Kenney is a liar or an idiot. Take your pick,” said one of the selected tweets.
“I vote for idiot,” Kenney quipped.
