See Lucinda Duncalfe talk about scaling a company at the Inky’s ‘Start-Up City’ event

The Philadelphia Inquirer is hosting its first tech and entrepreneurship event.
They’re calling it the Start Up City and it features many familiar faces, including Monetate CEO Lucinda Duncalfe, who will talk about scaling a company alongside La Colombe CEO Todd Carmichael, CHOP’s Patrick FitzGerald on the city’s eds-and-meds sector and Comcast’s Danielle Cohn on the city’s strengths and weaknesses as a business headquarters (this reporter will also be on that panel).
The event is on Tuesday, July 14 at the Kimmel Center from 1:30-6 p.m.

We’ve seen media get more and more interested in targeting the tech scene as an audience. It’s trendy, for sure, but it’s also an acknowledgment of the city’s tech scene as something that can’t be ignored — a big change from five years ago.
Media startup Billy Penn hosted a tech event in the spring, Philadelphia Magazine launched a business blog that covers tech and now the Inquirer is hosting a tech event and tapping many of the scene’s leaders. Last we checked, the paper was also hiring a full-time tech reporter.
