The Center just released the first of its “Your Creek” reports and focused on Love Creek near Rehoboth, according to a Delaware Public Media story.
Love Creek didn’t ace the report.
Scientists say close-by septic systems might be the cause of high concentrations of bacteria and nitrogen in the creek.
It’s a growing problem — the creek has already been deemed unsuitable for swimming and fishing — as the pollutants are destroying forest buffers that protect the creek’s vegetation.
The Center will release its next report in the spring about Derickson Creek, the story said.
