This year’s Lewes Polar Bear Plunge drew over 3,000 hardy souls to Rehoboth Beach on Feb. 1. The event raised a record-setting $780,000 for Special Olympics Delaware.

Drone footage of a polar bear plunge in Spokane, Wash., last year got a local paper in trouble for running afoul of FAA rules. (The federal agency argued it was unlicensed commercial usage.) As we recently reported, the regulatory gray area around aerial photography in the U.S. drove one recent UD grad to Canada to start a drone business there.
This video was shot by YouTube user “EMJ SPORTFISHING,” which is also behind drone videos of Cape Henlopen State Park and the Indian River Inlet.
