Launch Workplaces announced that it is set to open another Bethesda, Md.-based coworking space in September.

The network of coworking spaces owned by Edgewater, Md.-based The Brick Companies is partnering with Washington Property Company (WPC), a full-service commercial real estate company, to open Launch Bethesda Wisconsin in WPC’s building located at 6900 Wisconsin Avenue. Launch will fully manage operations of the coworking space.

The company’s ninth location is still undergoing renovations but when it’s complete, the space will feature 6,500 sq. ft. across the building’s second floor. Launch reported in a press release that there’s potential the coworking space will expand to additional floors in the future.

“Flexibility and agility are driving today’s workforce and we create offices to match this mindset. Today, modifications of the physical workspace are a tenant necessity to accommodate growth and changing business needs,” Launch CEO Mike Kriel said in a statement. “Our newest location keeps tenant needs in mind while also offering an engaging office environment with a focus on community and building relationships.”

The new space will include two multimedia conference rooms, a large shared space equipped with a kitchen, 20 private offices and 12 workstations. Launch will host networking events and workshops for tenants in the space.

“We’re confident in Launch Workplaces’ ability to not only convert the existing space at 6900 Wisconsin Avenue into a fantastic place of work but to add value to the space and building by creating a sense of community among occupants and, ultimately, increasing retention and readying us to work with them as they grow,” Joshua Gurland, VP of commercial leasing at WPC, said in a press release.

Launch’s other Bethesda location is situated at 4701 Sangamore Road, and has been open since August 2018.

This expansion announcement comes after Launch announced last month that it has been contracted by Montgomery County to manage two local innovation centers: the Germantown Innovation Center and the Rockville Innovation Center.
