The Chesapeake Regional Tech Council has a new leader, for now.
John Elstner, who was the founding CEO of the Chesapeake Innovation Center, was appointed interim executive director of CRTC. Elstner currently serves as treasurer of the nonprofit’s board. Since ending his five-year tenure with CIC in 2006, he has served as a C-level executive for several commercialization-focused startups.
Elstner steps in as the organization searches for a new director following the departure of Kris Valerio Shock, who completed her seven-year tenure on June 30. Shock took a new job as senior account director with Camden Yards-based marketing firm Exit10.
In addition to running day-to-day operations, Elstner will lead the board’s search for a new director.
