Before the NFL season kicks off, Joe Flacco is adding “mealtime MVP” to his list of accolades.
The Ravens quarterback is partnering with meal kit startup Terra’s Kitchen, forming an all-Baltimore team for a nationwide campaign. Joe Flacco, Dana Flacco and their five kids will be featured preparing and sharing meals delivered by Terra’s Kitchen. Here’s a sample from Flacco’s pitch, per a press release:
“Terra’s Kitchen seriously ups the meal kit game because they deliver everything ready-to-cook which saves time and creates less mess which is perfect for our family. We also love all the add-on choices like fresh fruit for the kids, lunch salads and even cold brew coffee,” Flacco said.
They’re also offering $40 off for customers who use the code FLACCO.
As CEO Mike McDevitt has told us, the three-year-old company is looking to stand out by offering a variety of meals that get delivered in a reusable box, with pre-chopped ingredients that are designed to be prepared in less than 30 minutes.
“The partnership with Joe is exciting because we’ll be educating people on how Terra’s Kitchen can help families create a healthy dinner experience that gives them more time for what really matters in life,” Mike McDevitt said in a statement. Terms of the partnership were not disclosed.
With the deal, Flacco joins Michael Phelps among Baltimore athletes who have pitched for local startups.
