The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) is in town this week. It’s expected to bring 18,000 technologists and educators to Philadelphia, as well as 300 edtech startups.

Some local highlights:
- Science Leadership Academy students opened the ISTE Town Hall on Sunday.
- Fran Newberg, the School District’s deputy chief of the Office of Educational Technology, is speaking on a panel on Tuesday called “Reimagining Learning to Prepare Today’s Students for the Jobs of the Future.”
ISTE is also hosting an edtech startup pitch competition, though out of the 11 competitors, none are local.
