Introducing Technical.ly DC Diaries, an interview series highlighting local founders and technologists

For this inaugural episode of our new video series, Vinetta Project DC Director Dawn Myers talks about why she's so passionate about her work and what keeps her motivated.

You know Technical.ly as a news site that grows local technology communities by connecting organizations and people through journalism, events and services.

As we continue to find new ways to serve the #dctech community, our new video series, Technical.ly DC Diaries, will feature interviews with local founders, technologists and startup leaders. The conversations will be hosted by me, Technical.ly DC Market Editor Michelai Graham, and will explore various topics including how these folks got their start in technology or entrepreneurship and what keeps them going.

It’s one more way to help you get to know the people in your community doing the most impactful work.

As I fine tune specifics with this series, episodes may come sporadically over the next few weeks. My intention is to produce at least 10-episode seasons with specific overarching themes. The conversations are recorded on Zoom and will be 20 minutes in length, max.

For these first few episodes, I’m interviewing people from our inaugural RealLIST Connectors, a roundup of local leaders working to build their tech, entrepreneurship and innovation community by linking others with an eye toward future growth and inclusivity. Future seasons may focus on Black engineers, women technologists, biotech startup founders and more.

For this pilot episode, I interviewed Vinetta Project DC Director Dawn Myers, who took over as leader of Vinetta’s D.C. chapter in January following Kelly O’Malley’s departure last fall. Myers is an entrepreneur herself who founded and leads her own venture THE MOST, which designs tools and appliances for the styling of textured hair.
