Preview the newest HTC phone at HTC’s pop up stand in Franklin Square.
The cell phone company embarked on a national tour to promote the HTC One, opening what HTC is calling a “BoomSound Lounge” in six U.S. cities to let consumers try out the phone and enter a free raffle to win one. The lounge will be open during the day in Franklin Square near Old City until Friday, April 19, when the phone goes on sale.
Local marketing stunts are no longer just for prepaid mobile phones, like we’ve seen in the past with brands like Cricket and Boost Mobile. In the post-iPhone 5 world, it seems like other smartphone brands are bringing out a more intensified, local marketing game.
Speaking of Apple’s mobile phone brand, on Friday, T-Mobile started selling the iPhone 5 and a PR rep boasted that their retail store at 2300 Castor Avenue at Aramingo near Port Richmond had some 30 people lined up ready to pick one up.
