Haydle: this software remembers your company’s institutional memory

What if you were to leave your job today? How much institutional memory would leave with you? Workflow things and tech how-to, things that haven't been added to any sort of staff manual.

What if you were to leave your job today? How much institutional memory would leave with you? Maybe workflow process and tech how-to, things that haven’t been added to any sort of staff manual.

Haydle aims to fix that problem.

A spinoff of Fort Washington’s Chariot Solutions, Haydle is a tool that creates a database of questions and answers that aims to capture a company’s collective memory. The name is a portmanteau of ‘needle’ and ‘haystack.’

Try Haydle

Employees input questions into Haydle and other employees answer them. Then people can vote on the useful answers, reddit-style. It’s a way to give positive reinforcement to the employees who are offering helpful answers, said CEO Joel Confino.

It’s a per-user/per-month subscription basis and starts at $10/user/month and goes down with volume, Confino said.

Haydle has about 2,500 users, Confino said. They range from employees at a large financial company, an ecommerce company and, of course, Chariot Solutions. Confino said he was not able to share any names of other Haydle customers.

Nine employees work on the Haydle project, he said, and they’re based at Chariot Solutions’ office.

Confino, 38, lives in King of Prussia.
