The Hacktory is launching a membership model for newbie makers

Visit the maker education outfit's new Lancaster Avenue location next Saturday.

After nearly three years sharing space at the now-defunct Department of Making + Doing, The Hacktory officially has a home of its own. The maker education outfit is also launching a membership model à la NextFab but for those who are new to the maker community.
The Hacktory is hosting a “Grand Re-Opening Party” on Saturday, Feb. 6 from 1-4 p.m. to celebrate its new digs.
RSVP
The West Philly outpost of the maker movement will offer 3D printers, sewing machines, woodworking tools and more. Memberships will start at $17/month and founder Georgia Guthrie tells us she’s working on getting online payment processing up and running, so look out for that. In the meantime, check out the grand opening party or if you can’t make that, they’ll be hosting Thursday evening open houses each week.
