D.C.-based food delivery startup Galley has devised a way for you to give back this holiday season and get meals delivered directly to your door, too. Over the next 12 days the company will partner with 12 local nonprofits to give a portion of each day’s proceeds to that charity.
Here’s how it works: Galley will announce the nonprofit of the day on social media and via email (today’s charity is Luke’s Wings). When ordering you can simply include a hashtag for the nonprofit (for today that’s #LukesWings) at checkout, and a full 20 percent of the total dollar amount of your order will be donated.
Galley says they chose the nonprofits because they feel that the organizations’ missions align with those of the company and its customers. These causes include “children, access to high quality food, the performing arts, and improving the quality of life for those most in need,” the company says.
While Galley recently expanded delivery to Baltimore, 12 Days of Giving is D.C.-specific this time around.
