WHO’S GETTING FUNDED?

Personal Inc., the company behind LiveSafe, a crowdsourced public safety app, raised $500,000, according to an SEC filing.
Earthnet Inc., a technology company associated with former National Geographic president Tim Kelly, raised nearly $2 million in equity, according to an SEC filing.
Latchable, a stealth-mode IT company associated with Dhruva Rajendra and Luke Schoenfelder, raised $775,000 in equity, according to an SEC filing.
Snobswap, an online luxury consignment marketplace from self-described “mommypreneur” Elise Whang, raised $695,000 in equity, according to an SEC filing.
 

WHO’S MAKING MOVES?

Orate, a marketplace for event organizers and speakers that was founded at DC Startup Weekend, was chosen for the Durham, N.C.-based Startup Factory accelerator, the Business Journal reports.
 

WHO’S GETTING BUZZ?

TrackMaven, the marketing analytics company, published an infographic on the “perfect Facebook post.”
DataRPM, a big-data discovery tool, was called among the D.C. region’s “hottest tech companies” in a report by Lead411. See the complete list of 36 here, which also includes Maryland and Delaware companies.
