Let startups be small things that need to go and they’ll come back and offer support,” said USEED founder Brian Soward at a panel in 2012, speaking to a region’s understanding that a startup needs to relocate to grow and hopefully return to their place of origin (cough, cough).
USEED, a startup that helps colleges and universities build crowdfunding platforms for fundraising efforts, got its start in Delaware at the coIN Loft. Soward relocated the startup from Delaware to Philadelphia, then from Philadelphia to New York.
The startup was recently listed as No. 4 in Inc.’s “16 Startups Poised to Disrupt the Education Market.”
