An entrepreneur, an investor and a customer walk into the 23rd Street Armory. The punchline? Magic being made at Entrepreneur Expo.
At 2016’s Entrepreneur Expo, healthcare startup Keriton met its first investor and went on to raise a million-dollar round. Wearable tech startup Roar for Good launched a new product line, received lots of feedback and got to pose for a picture with the mayor. Beauty startup TresseNoire’s attendance led to possibilities of new partnerships, collaborations and investments. When it comes to the Entrepreneur Expo, success stories are the expectation, not the exception.
The ninth annual Philly Startup Leaders’ Entrepreneur Expo will take place on Wednesday, May 3 at The Armory near Rittenhouse Square. The event, which is the largest of its kind held in Philadelphia, will bring together over 75 local startups and 2,000 attendees to share new ideas, business plans, tech and the latest info and updates on what’s happening in the Philly startup scene.
Registration for Entrepreneur Expo is free.
RSVP“We can never predict the connections made through this event, our goal is to bring everyone together in one room and hope for serendipity” said Yuval Yarden, Executive Director of Philly Startup Leaders.
“Guru has exhibited at the Entrepreneur Expo for the last three years,” said Rick Nucci, Guru CEO and former Philly Startup Leaders president. “It has been a great event for us. As a core event during Philly Tech Week, this event is a great way to showcase all of the great companies being built here to thousands of people. You will meet investors, future employees and future customers. I highly recommend it.”
The expo, which is commonly referred to as a “tradeshow with less suits and more beer,” has earned its place as a staple in the growth and success of Philadelphia’s startup community.
All startups will also have access to one-on-one meetings with top executives from local corporations. David Makuen, SVP of Marketing at Five Below, and Dave Hayne, Chief Digital Officer at Urban Outfitters, were the first to commit their time. This announcement comes as just one of the upgraded features for this year’s edition of the Expo.
Other additions include the attendance of local food and beer vendors that’ll be offering samples throughout the evening and a few out-of-town VC’s who will also have some meeting time available for the startups.
Ellen Weber, Executive Director of Temple University’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute said,“It’s my favorite event of the year.”
