DSFederal secures contract to deliver health tech solutions to federal agencies

Rockville, Md.-based DSFederal has been awarded a contract by the National Institutes of Health Information Technology Acquisition and Assessment Center (NITAAC) to deliver health and research IT solutions in 10 task areas, a press release states.

Established in 2007, DSFederal is a woman-owned and led boutique government contractor that delivers health and research-focused software, enterprise IT, training and program management solutions to federal agencies. The company’s CEO, Sophia Parker, was recognized in 2017 as a Washington Business Journal “Women Who Mean Business” recipient.

Under the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), NITAAC is positioned to serve both civilian and defense agencies who need to fulfill health-related requirements and other CIO needs; this is where DSFederal comes in. Under the 10-year, government-wide acquisition contract, DSFederal will provide health and biomedical-related IT services to help these agencies meet their health, administrative, scientific and other critical needs.

DSFederal will provide its expertise and solutions in 10 specific task areas:

• IT services in biomedical research, health sciences and healthcare
• CIO support
• imaging
• outsourcing
• IT operations and maintenance
• integration services
• critical infrastructure protection and information assurance
• digital government
• enterprise resource planning
• software development

This contract announcement comes after DSFederal nabbed an NIH contract earlier this year for the NIH Office of Extramural Research (OER), a department that supports NIH’s extramural research community. Under the contract, DSFederal manages a team of NIH service providers and provides qualified staff to OER when needed.
