New York City-based Diligent Corporation, a SaaS company providing online platforms to C-suite executives to assist with communication protection, is opening a new 30,000-square-foot office in the District, located on the ninth floor of 1111 19th Street NW.
Launched in 2001, the company expanded to the D.C. area two years ago with only five employees and has since expanded to 90 team members who will work out of the new space. Prior to settling into the new space, Diligent employees were working out of the Courthouse Tower building located at 1515 N Courthouse Road in Arlington, Va.
Outside of its D.C. and New York locations, Diligent also has offices in London and Christchurch, New Zealand. When the company first expanded to the D.C. area two years ago, that was Diligent’s first expansion outside of New York.
The company is hosting a launch event this evening at 5 p.m. to celebrate the new office. The networking event will feature cocktails and words from the Diligent leadership team including CEO Brian Stafford and CFO Michael Stanton. Stanton told the Washington Business Journal that the new space has the capacity to hold 200 employees, which is good for Diligent since the company plans to keep expanding its D.C. team.
“It’s a great pool of talent to hire from — people with software as a service background, great marketers, great salespeople and great finance accounting and operations people,” Stanton told WBJ in an interview, adding that D.C. was “a very close second” to D.C. in concentration of customers.
Diligent is currently hiring for multiple positions in accounting, customer success, product marketing and more to work out of its D.C. office.
