If you weren’t one of the 300 beer enthusiasts that flocked to Dew Point Brewing’s secret soft opening last weekend, don’t worry. Nestled within historic Garrett Snuff Mill in Yorklyn, the family business officially opened Thursday, just in time for the weekend.
Dogfish Head, Twin Lakes, 16 Mile and Dominion are all staple Delaware breweries. Dew Point Brewing wants in on the thriving Delaware beer scene.
When we asked cofounder Nick Matarese (of The Barn fame) why the name vaguely sounded like DuPont, he said, “We really do want it to be a Delaware brewery, so most of our beer names will be funny and vague Delaware references. Something only a Delawarean would giggle at. My uncle and I were joking that we should have a spin-off brewery and call it Brewmours.”
Beer variety names include Hopworts Express, Nit Wit and Yorklyn Yak.
The tasting room will be open Thursday through Sunday and will be closed Monday through Wednesday. Cheers!
