The work of the “Twin Poets,” Al Mills and Rep. Nnamdi Chukwuocha, is revisited in the new Hearts and Minds Film “Art for Life,” premiering at Penn Cinema on the Riverfront on March 4. There will be a public preview at Delaware State University on Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. in the MLK Student Center on the Dover campus.
A followup to 2010’s “Why I Write,” which followed the brothers as social workers in the city of Wilmington, “Art for Life” looks at their continued work after being named poets laureate of Delaware and Chukwuocha being elected as a Delaware state representative.
The film, produced and directed by Sharon Baker, founder of Hearts and Minds Film and president of TELEDUCTION, was supported by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts. Baker’s longtime collaborators Pascal Dieckmann and Daniel R. Collins served as director of photography and coproducer and editor.
