DC fintech leaders talk hiring at this event

General Assembly and Tech in Motion are hosting The Future of Talent in Fintech on May 16.

Fintech leaders will discuss attracting and retaining diverse talent at General Assembly DC this week.

Teaming with Tech in Motion, the coding school is hosting a May 16 event titled “The Future of Talent in Fintech.”

“D.C. leaders across recruiting, HR, management, and startups will explore, discuss and unpack how the fintech industry is approaching challenges to hiring and retaining tech talent,” the description states.

The D.C. area has fintech companies working at multiple stages of development, as indicated by the list of panelists:

  • Huiwen Leo, general counsel of Crowdcheck, a fintech compliance company that works with startups, including those utilizing equity crowdfunding.
  • Mohan Rao, chief product and technology officer at StreetShares, a Reston, Va.–based small business funding marketplace.
  • Justin Howell, CEO of Rize, a platform looking to help millennials save money and invest.
