Comedy Hack Day, an event that aims to bring “technology-embracing comedians and comedy-loving developers” together, is coming to D.C. on Oct. 24.
Comedy Hack Day started in New York in 2012, and has since held events in Los Angeles, San Francisco and at MIT. This will be its debut D.C. appearance.
Essentially, Comedy Hack Day works like this:
A bunch of comedians, designers and developers gather on Friday, Oct. , form teams and go off to create — yes, there is a hackathon component to this — their funny app, website, etc. The teams have less than 24 hours to make their visions into some type of reality because at 7p.m. on Saturday the “finals” — the comedy-heavy portion of the event — begin.
During the live event each Comedy Hack Day team will present their products, comedy-show style, to a panel of judges and an audience.
Intrigued? Check out some videos from Comedy Hack Day’s New York event in May. Ready to sign up? The organizers are currently still looking for hackers to round out their numbers — it could be you!
You can also register to attend the final, which will be held at iStrategyLabs, as an audience member. Need a little extra motivation? What about the fact that as part of their sponsorship of the event, Random Nerds will be giving away a Mario Maker Wii U bundle to one attendee?
We’ll see you there.
