If you’re a Delaware entrepreneur or small business owner struggling with finding financing, you’ve struck a bit of luck: your state wants to lend a hand.
The Governor’s Entrepreneurial & Small Business Conference, hosted by the Delaware Economic Development Office, will be held at the Chase Center in Wilmington on Oct. 20 this year. The conference is designed to inform local entrepreneurs, innovators and small business owners on how to find the resources they need to finance and scale their business right here in Delaware.
“This conference will laser focus on how small businesses at all stages of development, need to position their business for the various forms of capital needed at those different stages and all the resources that are available to accomplish that in Delaware,” said DEDO Entrepreneurial and Small Business Support Director Ken Anderson. “Whether its debt financing, angel, venture money or other external investment, properly positioning the business is critical for successful outcomes.”
To boot, the state managed to rein in some pretty sweet local talent to speak at the conference.
Keynote presentations will be given by Carvertise founder Mac Nagaswami, SevOne founder Tanya Bakalov, DEDO director Bernice Whaley and Gov. Jack Markell himself.
You’ll also want to catch the four panels, which will provide tips on positioning your company to fetch the attention of local VCs, how to reel in funds from local banks, how to build a sturdy support network and how to promote an inclusive local economy.
The talent on the daises for those panels include the likes of local investor Mike Bowman, Horn Program in Entrepreneurship Director Dan Freeman, Delaware Small Business Development Center Associate State Director Barb Necarsulmer and many, many more.
