Every year, Las Vegas becomes the tech capital of the world during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES).
Amid a backdrop of product launches and flashy promo campaigns, the yearly trade show lures technologists and entrepreneurs from all walks of industry. Last year, the show had close to 200,000 attendees.
At CES 2019, Samsung, Apple and Google all made marquee announcements. There were 8K TVs, poop-detecting diapers and one meat-tasting meatless burger.
To get a debrief on what Philly attendees saw at CES, networking hub Venture Café will host a panel on Thursday. Jan. 17, titled “Lessons Learned from CES,” which will also aim to share lessons for founders looking to maximize the upside of going to massive trade shows like CES.
Here’s the lineup of speakers on the panel — which, full disclosure, will be moderated by this reporter:
- Michael Marks, senior VP of sales at ROAR for Good and a 20-year veteran of CES
- Gretchen Roede, president and CEO of public relations firm Broadpath, who has advised clients attending CES over the past 20 years
- Geoff Starr, partner at Cooley Law who spoke at this year’s CES in a session titled “Health Giants: Views From the C-Suite”
- Mo Zerban, founder and CEO of Tern Water and an attendee of CES in recent years, including CES 2019
The event will take place at 6:15 p.m. at Venture Café, which is located on the third floor of 3675 Market. No RSVP is needed.
