Philadelphia is one of the top cell and gene therapy hubs in the US, and Audrey Greenberg is at the forefront.
In 2019, Audrey and her team identified an opportunity to convert a former GSK R&D headquarters in King of Prussia into a biomanufacturing center of excellence.
Center for Breakthrough Medicines (CBM) has since become a leading contract development and manufacturing organization within the region’s burgeoning life sciences community. CMB specializes in cell and gene therapy and partners with pharmaceutical companies to bring their products from the conceptual stage to the market.
Audrey, who is cofounder and chief business officer of CBM, brings extensive experience from her background in accounting, finance, investment banking and private equity. She has played a pivotal role in building the org, focusing on recruiting top talent and securing significant investment, while emphasizing hard work, perseverance, and the importance of establishing trust with clients.
In 2022, SK pharmteco invested $350 million in CBM, and in September, SK announced the acquisition of a controlling interest in CBM. This move adds CBM’s extensive cell and gene therapy expertise to the SK pharmteco portfolio, furthering their strategy to provide end-to-end, multi-modality support for clients.
Tune in to hear Audrey Greenberg discuss her journey in launching CBM and share her insights on the development of cell and gene therapies, the workforce opportunities in Philadelphia, and the impact of broader economic trends on the industry today.
