It was a happy Valentine’s Day for Mac Nagaswami: The Philadelphia Inquirer published a big Sunday story about his car-advertising company, Carvertise.
Nagaswami said he was really excited about it. “The article did a great job giving background on our company and highlighting the work we’ve done with [Philly health system] Thomas Jefferson,” he said in an email Monday morning.
This year, Nagaswami said his big aim is to expand Carvertise’s market in Philadelphia.
He initially got a visit from the Inky after a reporter saw his TEDxWilmington talk on YouTube about traveling to North Carolina to secure Carvertise’s domain name. After a tour of the office and meeting the team, Nagaswami said, the reporter decided to skip a story on the domain name and instead write a larger feature on the company.
The story gets into the deets of how Carvertise works as a business model, its growth potential and how drivers like a Delaware County grandma have bought gas and outings with granddaughters with the money she earned from driving a wrapped car.
Here’s the first feature we wrote on Carvertise back in September 2014. ᐧ
