Beach-goers, rejoice: you just landed an alternative transportation option for your summer vacation.
Just in time for the official start of summer, ridesharing giant Uber has expanded operations to Rehoboth, Dewey and Bethany beaches. The announcement comes days after Uber reached a deal with the state, making the service legal in Delaware.
“We couldn’t be more exited that a Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Uber, Governor Markell, DelDOT and the DMV last week that will enable ridesharing to flourish throughout Delaware,” wrote Uber communications rep Kaitlin Durkosh.
Uber’s beach service officially launched in Delaware on June 19, and will continue throughout the summer. You can read more about Uber’s beach pricing on their blog.
