Who’s getting funded?

BizBrag, based in the Jones Falls Area of Baltimore city, has raised $200,000 in debt, according to SEC filings. The startup does social marketing and SEO for small businesses.
GrayBug, based in Tuscany-Canterbury in Baltimore city, has raised $1.455 million in equity, according to SEC filings. The biotech startup develops drug delivery tech for treating macular degeneration, a leading cause of vision loss in Americans over 60 years. Its laboratory is based in the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore city, and it was one of three winners of the inaugural InvestMaryland Challenge.
Triumfant, Inc., based in Rockville, has raised $6.33 million in debt, according to SEC filings. The cybersecurity company produces “alternative to traditional endpoint security products through one-of-a-kind software that detects and remediates malware without signatures or any other form of prior knowledge.”

Gaithersburg-based biotech company MedImmune has acquired “London-based Spirogen in a deal that could be worth as much as $440 million,” reports the Baltimore Business Journal. In August, MedImmune acquired Johns Hopkins University spinout company Amplimmune Inc.
